The Executive Board of the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians is proud to announce the availability of the Official Home Study Course and First Level Qualifying Examination for Veterinary Dental Technicians.
We are grateful to a member of our Board, Dr. Jan Bellows, for devoting the months of work required to create this unique examination. His work has been peer reviewed by his colleagues in the American Veterinary Dental College, Drs Stephen Holmstrom and Edward Eisner.
The Home Study Course consists of the following
(1) Two DVD Videos
(a) Veterinary Oral Pathology and
Charting covering normal anatomy, dental
identification systems, charting the mouth, congenital and
developmental pathology, periodontitis, endodontics,
orthodontics, restoration and oral cancer.
(b) The Complete Dental Prophy
including definitions, anatomy, periodontal disease, hand
instruments for the prophy, power scalers and the steps of the
prophy.
Both videos are referenced frame by frame to match the Workbook.
(2) A Forty-Six page Workbook to
study along with the above listed videos.
(3) Individual Registered Examination
Booklet.
After returning the examination sucessful candidates will
receive a Certificate designating them as a Qualified Veterinary
Dental Technician plus receive a handsome pin with the VDT
insignia.
